Sazini is a sought after executive with expertise in the establishment and development of social programmes. She is an accomplished Social Entrepreneur who is Social Entrepreneur of the year 2014 with the Regional Business Women Achievers Awards.
Sazini is pioneering socio economic empowerment and is passionate about changing people’s lives for the better, and strongly believes people can work their way out of poverty. With this belief, she started Hand in Hand in Southern Africa in partnership with a philanthropist in 2008. Since then, she has pioneered the growth of Hand in Hand SA from only two employees to over 200 employees.
She is currently the Chief Executive of Hand in Hand Southern Africa. She has over 13 years experience of working in the development sector six of which have been at Executive Management. Sazini is a strategist and development specialist by training having obtained a Masters Degree in Development Studies from the University of Cape Town. Professional experience has been in the consultancy space and also in government where she was responsible for developing a job creation initiative in South Africa aimed at creating jobs in the informal sector focusing on micro and small enterprise development.
Sazini is the Chairperson of the Business Bridge, a member of the African Social Entrepreneurs Network (ASEN), member of the Institute of Directors (IoDSA) a member of the African Leadership Network (ALN) and also a member of the Business Women Association (BWA). Sazini is married and a mother of three children.
